These structural changes are linked to improved control over attention and better emotion management, facilitated by increased activity in key brain areas like the prefrontal and anterior cingulate cortices, and a simultaneous reduction in amygdala activity. Furthermore, meditation has been shown to influence gene expression, particularly in reducing stress-related inflammation markers in immune cells.
